Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra achieve Gold Award at National Concert Band Festival
Bas Hossle, a year 10 student at Rendcomb College took part in the National Concert Band competition performing on tenor saxophone, as part of Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra (GYJO) this weekend.
The orchestra gained a Gold Award awarded by Trinity. They had 7 accreditations within the Platinum award too. They competed against adult and university bands and narrowly missed out on the top spot, but managed to achieve the Gold Award for the West of England and Wales Region at the Festival. The GYJO players must be at Grade 6 standard or above to be considered and must audition for a place, in order to be able to play for the county.
Huge congratulations to Bas and the rest of the Gloucestershire Youth Jazz Orchestra on their fantastic achievement.
