A vibrant and energetic performance by a group of talented Rendcomb College students from Years 3 to 5 earned them first place in the Junior Schools Group Dance class at this year’s Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts.
Held at the iconic Cheltenham Town Hall, the Festival is the town’s oldest and one of its most cherished cultural events. With over 300 classes across music, dance, and drama, the Festival draws participants of all ages from across the region and beyond, offering a supportive stage and expert feedback from professional adjudicators.
Thirteen pupils from our school dazzled the audience and judges alike with their playful and polished ‘Mad Hatters’ themed routine. Dressed in colourful costumes, their flawless and fun performance was bursting with creativity and team spirit, ultimately securing them the top spot in a tough category featuring four school groups.
This win marks a proud and joyful moment for the entire Rendcomb College community. The trophy presentation was met with cheers and smiles — a fitting reward for the children’s dedication, enthusiasm, and countless hours of practice.
The Cheltenham Festival of Performing Arts, established in 1926, has a long-standing tradition of nurturing young talent, and has helped launch the careers of many notable performers. For our young dancers, this achievement is not only a celebration of artistic excellence but also an inspiring first step in their own creative journeys.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to all the staff, parents, and supporters who helped make this possible. Most importantly, a huge congratulations to our wonderful performers — your hard work, energy, and team spirit have truly paid off!
Let this serve as a reminder of what can be accomplished when creativity and commitment come together. Bravo!
