"I had a lot of fun at the workshop learning how to mix different patterns and colours"
Sixth Form artists were treated to a dynamic and inspiring Collage Workshop led by artist and educator Rebecca Loweth on Wednesday 12th November.
Rebecca, who trained at UCA Farnham and completed her postgraduate studies at the Slade School of Fine Art, brought her wealth of experience in Fine Art, Collage, Arts and Health, and Inclusive Arts Practices to the session. Students explored a range of creative techniques, learning how to combine textures, patterns, and colours to create visually striking compositions.
Reflecting on the experience, India C-P commented:
“I had a lot of fun at the workshop learning how to mix different patterns and colours, and how less can be more. We also learnt how to find good contrasts and juxtapositions in a piece - and what makes a collage work well and look pleasing to the eye.”
The workshop encouraged pupils to experiment freely while developing a deeper understanding of the artistic process behind collage. Rebecca’s engaging approach and professional insight left Rendcombians feeling motivated to continue exploring the medium in their own creative work.
