“His ability to absorb and accurately apply new concepts across all his subjects clearly shows his readiness for the demands of undergraduate study.”
We are delighted to share the wonderful news that Dean M (Year 13) has received an offer from Balliol College, University of Oxford, to study Physics.

Dean joined Rendcomb in Year 7 and has gone on to become an outstanding pupil. He is currently studying four A Levels: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Computer Science and Physics. Throughout his time at Rendcomb, Dean has been an exemplary pupil, consistently achieving the highest marks in his cohort. Most recently, he achieved the highest possible mark in the British Physics Olympiad, an exceptional accomplishment.
Rhodri James, Head of Sixth Form, commented:
“Dean has consistently excelled, and we are delighted to see his efforts rewarded with an offer from Oxford, one of the world’s most prestigious universities.
“He possesses exceptional intellectual curiosity and analytical rigour, demonstrated through his independent exploration of challenging topics in Core Pure Mathematics, Further Mechanics, and Decision Mathematics.
“His ability to absorb and accurately apply new concepts across all his subjects clearly shows his readiness for the demands of undergraduate study.”
We congratulate Dean on this outstanding achievement and wish him every success as he prepares for the next stage of his academic journey
