This term has seen a wonderful range of charitable endeavours undertaken by the Rendcomb community. These have raised over £2,888 and helped raise awareness for a number of worthy causes.

On Friday 26th September, Julia Edgeworth-Simmonds (Head of EAL) organised cake bake sale as part of the Macmillan Coffee Morning. This event raised £231.54 for the charity, marking its 35th anniversary.

During the same month, Viktoria Nagy from our Finance Team completed the Richmond (London) Marathon in September - raising £500 for the World Wildlife Foundation.

Several members of staff teamed up to support the international Men's Health charity, Movember, by ‘growing a Mo’ to raise awareness and funds. The Rendcomb Razorians – made up of Chris Border (Head of Athletic Development), Jacob Collett (Head of Rugby), Brett Leese (Head of Estates and Operations), Hugh Marsden (Head of DoE), Chris Summerbell (Sports Coach) and Chris Tanner (Head of Marketing) – raised a total of £817.

The Junior School supported Children in Need with £204 raised thanks to a fancy dress day on Friday 14th November – with World Diabetes Day also inspiring some of our children to ‘wear blue’. The day holds special significance as it is the birthday of Sir Frederick Banting, co-discoverer of insulin.

Early in December, a cake bake sale in Common Room raised £200 for Spinal Research – following a magnificent marathon effort from Matt and Jono Conolly, the sons of Lisa Conolly (Receptionist). Matt and Jono now raised a total of £7,500 for the charity having completed five marathons in five days in November.

Oonagh Hughes, a teacher of English and Music in our Senior School, organised and compered the annual Festive Collective in Tewkesbury – helping to raise £480 for The Butterfly Garden, Cheltenham. Collections took place for our two school charities, Linc and the RSPCA, at a staff versus Girls’ 1st XI Hockey match and at the Christmas Carol Service. The collection at the service raised £454.70.

A great number of our pupils and parents also supported this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal, helping to bring joy to children and families who need it most this festive season.
