Stable House is the 14-16 year old (Year 10 and 11) girls’ boarding and day house. The friendly and supportive atmosphere for the girls encourages them to seize every opportunity that comes their way and to make the most of their innate talents. Day girls and boarders benefit from an experienced tutor and domestic team who value, respect and care for the girls, encouraging them to be compassionate and considerate, intellectually curious and interested in ideas. Boarders have their own bedroom with access to a computer room and each floor has a kitchen and bathroom. The older girls have their own lounge and all have access to a laundry room.
The common room has a TV, Nintendo Wii and table tennis table and is designed to encourage the girls to socialise. There is also a Cinema Lounge with film posters and a wide choice of DVDs; it also has a fish tank for tranquillity. A Skype room is available for girls to keep in touch with their families along with a careers room, library, hobbies room and a gym. Evening and weekend activities include dance, yoga, Pilates, beauty treatments such as facials, sports hall challenges, cookery, trips to the cinema to watch the latest release and shopping.
The girls love their Houseparents’ new arrival; a Bouvier des Flandres puppy called Leo, who competes for cuddles with their Cockapoo, Tilly.
