Physical Education

Physical Education can be studied both at GCSE level and A Level.

Students will have opportunities to develop their skills in a variety of sports while covering a broad range of topics.  It has a breadth and depth of content that dovetails well with a range of subjects notably Biology and Psychology. As a department we aim to deliver an extensive and stimulating programme of study that provides opportunities for students to experience a variety of sports activities and to develop an interest and expertise in the sporting industry. 

A LEVEL COURSE OVERVIEW

A Level Physical Education combines 7 areas of study across 2 years.  These range from Anatomy and Physiology to Psychology in Sport and Analysis.  The course has been designed to lead into a huge variety of careers in both the sporting and science industries.  It combines practical performance with theoretical application and is often considered as a science by universities.  Opportunities such as university laboratory visits, sporting expert seminars and elite performance visits are all part of this exciting and diverse A level.
