Big changes in our boarding houses for 2019

We are very excited to tell you that the changes to our boarding house are well underway and on schedule to be completed this September.

The building, previously known as Godman House, which at present is home to our year 7 -9 girls, will be extended to a fabulous 40-bed house to be enjoyed by both boys and girls.

Opening a co-educational house is a significant development at Rendcomb, enabling us to further enforce the welcoming family atmosphere for which we are very proud.

It is vital to us here at Rendcomb that our pupils enjoy excellent facilities in an environment that is similar to family life and this new building is an example of our commitment to outstanding pastoral care for both our boarding and day pupils.

Our Sixth Form House has been home to boys and girls since 1972 and Co-educational boarding is a big part of Rendcomb college life and we are thrilled to be able to offer that to our younger generations.

The new accommodation will boast a large central common room, which will link the boys' and girls' wings.

There will also be plenty of break out space for our busy occupants; with a games room, additional study rooms, changing rooms and kitchen.

Our dedicated team of pastoral staff will also live in the house staff quarters on-site to offer the children round the clock support and ensure they feel at home.

The new accommodation will not only provide our students with a modern and vibrant co-ed experience it will also offer families plenty of flexibility.

Families will have the option to choose between boarding with us on a full time, weekly or flexible basis. Alternatively, they will be welcome to stay over on ad-hoc occasions depending on availability. Day pupils will also have the option to stay on campus until 8 pm.

Pupils moving into the new house in September are looking forward to having more space and being able to spend more time with their siblings throughout the day.

We are very grateful to the hardworking team of surveyors at James Slater and to the specialists at CW Duke who are undertaking the building refurbishment and fit out.

We look forward to sharing the completed works with you and the opening of the new house.
