Entry into the Sixth Form represents an important and challenging watershed in a student’s education. Central to this experience at Rendcomb is our Sixth Form House, Park. Park House is a co-educational, purpose built self-contained block and when not in lessons or tutorial groups, students spend time studying or relaxing in Park House. Park has a great friendly atmosphere and this helps our students get the balance right. They not only achieve strong academic results but also enjoy the Rendcomb Sixth Form experience.
Rendcomb Sixth Formers enjoy a full programme of Sport, Art, Music and Drama. Many also take up the Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award challenge. They all enjoy the experience of self-catering and managing their own budgets when in the Sixth Form House, which we feel is excellent preparation for University and life after school.
Starting a new school or moving boarding house is always an exciting time, with new possibilities for the students being identified!
Mark and Karen Coups, the Houseparents are the first point of contact. They are responsible for the care of the students in the House and for its administration and discipline. They live in the House with their son Declan and daughter Megan and their two cats Dougal and Dylan.
We are fortunate to have experienced staff as House Tutors and Mr Aaron Read as an Assistant Houseparent. Their role includes the pastoral care of all members of the House and a more specific role as academic tutors to certain students.
Together, we aim to create a happy, friendly and co-operative atmosphere where we hope each individual student will thrive academically and flourish on a personal level. We are all looking forward to working with you in making the Sixth Form at Rendcomb the very best that it can be.
