Mr Simon Kinson

Mr Kinson has been a Houseparent at Rendcomb for 3 years while also running a successful gardening and pest control business in the Cirencester area.

Mr Kinson has had an incredibly interesting career working as a Horticultural Instructor and Teacher within the prison system, working with children and becoming a qualified NVQ instructor and verifier.

As a gardener, Mr Kinson’s favourite thing about Rendcomb is the fantastic grounds the school is situated in and the spectacular views stable has on its doorstep.

Outside of Rendcomb and gardening Mr Kinson loves going to the gym and using his two dogs to keep him fit by taking them on walks.

“My favourite boarding activity is pizza night. A great reward after an hour in the gym!”

Mr Kinson believes the relationships they build with the boarders over their time in Stable House is key to making it a special and memorable place.

“Saying goodbye to the boarders each year is the toughest part of the job. Even though they only move up the road to Park House it’s a big jump. It’s great to see them come back and visit us and the dogs every so often, even when they leave Rendcomb.”

“My aim as a Houseparent is to give the girls a voice within the house. Student voice is incredibly important to me and allowing them to have a say in how the house is run helps us understand them more and what can be improved for the next year’s boarders.”
