Autumn Day in the Pre-prep

Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2 enjoyed a themed ‘Autumn Day’ this term where they spent the day getting involved in a number of autumn-inspired activities. They looked specifically at all the animals and seasonal changes associated with the season.

Reception and Year 1 started their day with a cooking activity to make hedgehog bread, complete with spikes and raisin eyes!

Nursery enjoyed practicing an autumn dance with Mrs Liebenberg in which they pretended to be squirrels scavenging for nuts.

Reception, Year 1 and Year 2’s also choreographed their own dance. Their dance took inspiration from the autumn leaves falling from the trees and the path they take from blowing in the breeze on their branch to blowing through the air to falling to the floor.

All of the Pre-prep children then spent the afternoon in the Forest School. They made leaf crowns using beautiful autumn leaves as the decoration. They also used leaves to create rainbows using the many colour shades available to create a piece of artwork demonstrating the changes in the season. Finally, they used sticks and leaves to create people and animals using sticky eyes to add character to their creations!
