Professional adjudicators provide feedback on all performances.<br /> <br /> This year Rendcomb entered candidates from all age groups and enjoyed success across the board. In Speech and Drama, the Rendcomb Juniors’ Anna Wateridge, Alessia Cottrell, Jemima Martin, Carmen Lee and Alexandra Rees all took part. Jemima Martin won her class, U7 verse recital, beating off stiff competition from local Prep schools. Carmen Lee entered in two classes and she gained Distinction in both. From the Senior School Cameron Rowe and Olivia Witts were awarded Silver Medals. Yesterday she won 1500m County Champion Title at the Gloucestershire AA County Championships. She ran a time of 5 minutes 28.7 which also set a new Athletic Club record breaking the Stroud Harriers record which has stood for 13 years! Instructors.<br /> <br /> Paul Bentley took time away from his Olympic duties to run the course with Chris Miles.<br /> <br /> The beautiful Cotswold setting of Rendcomb, and the extensive 250 acre estate grounds made the ideal venue for this prestigious group. Easy access to the main airports was a great bonus for those travelling from Denmark, United States and rest of the United Kingdom. Having recorded two victories in the round robin stage of the tournament, Rendcomb qualified for the final, staged at The Sevens Stadium in Dubai, on the basis of net run rate.<br /> <br /> The College batted first and posted a score of 139 which was relatively disappointing in light of the fact that the team had comfortably passed the 200 run mark on two previous occasions. Their opponents, Sharjah YTCA, a talented and disciplined batting side, set about this target which required a run rate of less than 4 runs an over and which appeared to be well within their grasp. However, the Rendcomb boys rose to the occasion and bowled and fielded with great spirit and tenacity to create some real pressure on the batting side. Just as their opponents threatened to take control, the College took vital wickets and, in an incredibly tense and exciting finale, with the scores level, Howard Auster and James Tait combined to run out YTCA’s last man, and the result of the final was a tie.
