Independent Living
"Of particular note is the week of well-planned, independent living, by Sixth form pupils preparing for higher education, in a house in the adjoining village."
In order to maximise the benefits that the Rendcomb sixth form provides, young people are supported in developing the appropriate personal skills to make a success of life and their time as university students and in the future world of work.
As Park House staff, we are address these needs in a variety of ways, one of which is through our life skills programme including car maintenance, cooking, basic DIY and personal financial management. Some of these skills can be applied during the weeks that each member of 6U spends in the Sixth Form flat. During this period they live with three other students on a limited budget, shopping, cooking and, hopefully, washing up, or discovering, before it is too late, just how unpopular you become in a student flat if you fail to do your fair share.
