Cultural Enrichment
"Life in the Sixth Form is certainly a vibrant one, offering a diverse range of experiences that stretch far beyond the classroom" Sixth form parent
At Rendcomb College we run a full programme of cultural enrichment. These events, which occur every two or three weeks, are designed to expose students to intellectual and cultural challenges outside their immediate academic disciplines. Both years are encouraged to attend and it is hoped that the range of activities will mean that there should be something to appeal to everyone. Students are encouraged to initiate and organise events and we have a programme of outside speakers visiting as well.
The school calendar bears witness to the large number of theatre visits, Sixth Form debating opportunities and extension trips that Rendcomb offers. The Sixth Form have the opportunity to visit the student bar and games rooms during the week and at weekends. There is a dining club, sixth form ball and other formal social occasions.
There is significant student input into developing the values that shape life in the Sixth Form and meaningful contribution to the organisation of important dimensions of Sixth Form life. The Social Committee organises, promotes and runs Sixth Form social events, whilst the House Committee oversees the running of the Sixth Form house, generating and developing ideas to improve the wellbeing of the Sixth Form community. Rendcomb offers students genuine opportunities to show initiative and take control of their own lives.
