TOP GRADE DELIGHT FOR NEW HEAD AT RENDCOMB
Rendcomb’s new Headmaster, Roland Martin was given an impressive welcome gift this week, with 46% of the School’s GCSE papers graded at A* or A grades.
“I was thrilled last week to see how well our A Level pupils had done this year,” he commented “but as you can imagine, I am overjoyed this week!”
94% of GCSE papers at Rendcomb this year were awarded A*-C results with the A*-A percentage rising 11% on last year. Mr Martin, who arrived at Rendcomb from Eton last week smiled, “In many ways, these results are better than I was used to at my last School. There, it was very unusual for students to take more than 10 GCSEs; 61% of students at Rendcomb this year sat papers in 11 subjects making these results, and their teachers’ efforts, all the more remarkable.”
We are very proud of the principle on which Noel Wills founded Rendcomb College in 1920. His vision was to provide an excellent education within a comfortable and friendly atmosphere. Eighty years on, Rendcomb still has these distinctive qualities and the Wills family continue to support the College, giving us financial strength and assisting in the development of our first class facilities.
We hope that this website gives you a flavour of some of the features which we feel passionate about at Rendcomb, a sense of what we value, how we work and how we play. If you think that Rendcomb could be the right school for your child, please come and see us for yourself. When you visit, you will tour the school with a pupil while lessons are going on and meet our housestaff.
I look forward to welcoming you and sharing Rendcomb College with you and your children.
