The Woodland Classroom
The school recognises the importance of children experiencing and appreciating their environment. The superb setting of Rendcomb enables us to provide a very rich outdoor experience for our pupils. We have a dedicated outdoor classroom which is used by all the classes in the Junior School for a variety of lessons from science practicals, design technology projects, maths investigations to poetry and imaginative writing. All pupils bring their ‘wellies’ to school and we are out in all seasons with the classroom offering us some shelter and a tranquil learning environment.
The Woodland Classroom was opened by Jonathon Porritt, CBE (co-founder of Forum for the Future) on Founder's Day 27th May 2006, supported by the Cotswold Conservation Board.
